UNBELIEVABLE!!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

This is a photo of Senator Barack Obama, Senator Hillary Clinton, Governor of New Mexico Bill Richardson, and Ruth Harkin.  It was published by Time Magazine.  The photo was taken during the playing of the National Anthem at the thirtieth annual steak fry put on by Senator Tom Harkin in Indianola, Iowa.  Senator Obama, a PRESIDENTIAL candidate, did not put his hand over his heart as is traditionally done here in the United States.  The thing that stood out to me is that even as extreme liberal as Senator Clinton is, she put her hand over her heart.  So where would this put Senator Obama's ideology?  If someone who is running for president, the Commander-in-Chief mind you, has a problem with respecting the flag and the National Anthem, I don't believe that individual should be allowed to run.  Such disrespect would not be tolerated in any other country in the world.  Too bad it's tolerated here and many Americans do not see anything wrong with it.

No comment, Dirk. Just wanted to congratulate you as well as Nelishia on gaining custody of Katie. I do hope that Brandy, given time, will manage to get over her problems.

Am I allowed to say I disagree with you?  Because I kinda, sorta do.  He was reflective and respectful and sincere and wasn't talking, looking away, chewing gum or anything of the sort.   I honestly didn't know it was mandatory to put your hand over your heart.  I thought it was personal preference UNLESS it was the pledge of allegiance.  As long as the proper respect was being paid, I am OK with the whole thing.

Just my opinion....

Sometimes it is the little details of our lives that tell most loudly who we really are inside.  -  Barbara

HI Dirk- I saw this photo also, but I heard that obama osama mamma said it was a mistake and this was shown during the pledge of alligience instead- but either way, it shows a lack of respect for this country and all it stands for- the fact too that he won't wear a flag pin speaks volumes to me.  I'd suggest that he, and like minded libs that don't see how great this country is- go live in some other place for a year- say, Iran or north Korea- see how good we have our freedoms here- then maybe they will be a little more grateful.  Thank you Dirk!  God Bless you!  Carolyn

It does ring as an insult. There are some things that should still be sacred with elected officials. (Hugs) Indigo

I agree wholeheartedly Dirk.  I don't know how I missed this entry.  Wow, I was just reading a comment that said, as long as he was being respectul, this is okay.  In what way is he respectul?  No hand on heart, no words, no looking at the flag.  How can we expect this man to be our commander in cheif and lead our troops if he doesn't believe in America?

Thanks for posting, Dirk.
