WHO'S RESPONSIBLE FOR AMERICA'S PROBLEMS?

This is an article that Deb, Frosty Thoughts, sent me and graciously gave me permission to post it.  Thank you, Deb!

This is very good and very true!

Charley Reese has been a journalist for 49 years. He wrote the following:

THE 545 PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR AMERICA'S WOES
by CHARLEY REESE

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them. Have you ever wondered why, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, we have deficits? Have you ever wondered why, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, we have inflation and high taxes? You and I don't propose a federal budget. The president does. You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does. You and I don't write the tax code. Congress does. You and I don't set fiscal policy. Congress does. You and I don't control monetary policy. The Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president and nine Supreme Court justices - 545 human beings out of the 300 million - are directly, legally, morally and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country. I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered but private central bank. I excluded all the special inte rests and lobbyists for a sound reason, they have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman or a president to do one cotton- picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

A CONFIDENCE CONSPIRACY Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party. What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a SPEAKER, who stood up and criticized G.W. BUSH for creating deficits. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it. The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow Democrats, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto.

REPLACE THE SCOUNDRELS It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts - of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem, from an unfair tax code to defense overruns, that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist. If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair. If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red. If the Marines are in IRAQ, it's because they want them in IRAQ. There are no insoluble government problems. Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can't take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exist disembodied mystical forces like 'the economy', 'inflation', or 'politics' that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do. Those 545 people, and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power. They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses - provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees. We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess.

WE OWE A DEBT THAT CAN NEVER BE REPAID-PART 1

Nelishia sent this to me.  This is something you will never see in the mainstream media.  We owe all of our military personnel, no matter what their jobs are, regardless of whether or not they go into combat, no matter when, a debt that we can never, never repay.  Saying "thank you" is so precious little, and doesn't even come close to covering it.
Very touching and so sad!!!

He  clutches the cross hanging on his chain next to his dog tags.

You  talk trash about your 'buddies' that aren't with you.

He  knows he may not see some of his buddies again.

You  walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.

He  patrols the streets, searching for insurgents and  terrorists.

You  complain about how hot it is.

He  wears his heavy gear, not daring to take off his helmet to wipe his  brow.

You  go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order  wrong.

He  doesn't get to eat today.

Your  maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.

He  wears the same things for weeks, but makes sure his weapons are  clean.

You  go to the mall and get your hair redone.

He  doesn't have time to brush his teeth today.

You're  angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.

He's  told he will be held over an extra 2 months.

You  call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.

He  waits for the mail to see if there is a letter from home.

You  hug and kiss your girlfriend, like you do everyday.

He  holds his letter close and smells his love's perfume.

You  roll your eyes as a baby cries.

He gets  a letter with pictures of his new child,

and wonders if they'll ever meet.

You  criticize your government, and say that war never solves anything.

He sees  the innocent tortured and killed by their own people and remembers why  he is fighting.

WE OWE A DEBT THAT WE CAN NEVER REPAY-PART 2

You  hear the jokes about the war, and make fun of men like him.

He  hears the gunfire, bombs and screams of the wounded.

You  see only what the media wants you to see.

He sees  the broken bodies lying around him.

You  are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.

He does  exactly what he is told even if it puts his life in  danger.

You  stay at home and watch TV.

He  takes whatever time he is given to call, write home, sleep, and  eat.

You  crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable.

He  tries to sleep but gets awakened by mortars and helicopters all night  long.

If  you support your troops, send this to 7 people.

If you  don't support your troops well, then don't send this out. You won't  die in 7 days, your love life won't be affected, and you won't have  the worst day ever.

You  don't have to email this. It's not like you know the men and women  that are dying to preserve your rights.

REMEMBER  our Troops, and do not forget them LATER

 Lest  we forget -

 KEEP THE CHAIN GOING

TO MY FOREVER SWEETHEART ON OUR FIRST ANNIVERSARY

Photobucket

Today is the first anniversary of joining in covenant with the love of my life, Nelishia.  It was one year ago today that we began our lives together as husband and wife.  I have never known a love like this and never knew that a marriage could ever be anything like this. Until I met her, I thought this was only possible in the make-believe world of the movies. Our compatibilities with each other is something that we could not have possibly ever set out to accomplish.  We often joke about the dating service that is so limited to “just” twenty-nine dimensions!  We have so much more!

My life with Nelishia is beyond anything I ever imagined.  This past year has been the sweetest year ever despite all we have been through.  I told her just last night, that when the smoke cleared, WE were still here!  We are in covenant.  She is my precious gem, my “Hope Diamond.” Photobucket I hold onto her firmly but gently as I would a fine precious jewel.

I would say that I will be in love with her the rest of our lives.  But that isn’t long enough.  Life is but a vapor – here and then it’s gone.  So we’ll be in love and in covenant with each other “Forever and Always”.  I know, there is no marriage in Heaven, but you make your Heaven, and I’ll make mine!  Nelishia is my everything, my best friend, and all I need other than Jesus of course!

Happy 1st Anniversary, my Love, my Forever Sweetheart.  I love you more than you’ll ever know this side of Heaven!

She's Everything by Brad Paisley

She's a yellow pair of running shoes
A holey pair of jeans
She looks great in cheap sunglasses
She looks great in anything
She's I want a piece of chocolate
Take me to a movie
She's I can't find a thing to wear
Now and then she's moody

She's a Saturn with a sunroof
With her brown hair a-blowing
She's a soft place to land
And a good feeling knowing
She's a warm conversation
That I wouldn't miss for nothing
She's a fighter when she's mad
And she's a lover when she's loving

[Chorus]
And she's everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
I talk about her, I go on and on and on
'Cause she's everything to me

She's a Saturday out on the town
And a church girl on Sunday
She's a cross around her neck
And a cuss word 'cause its Monday
She's a bubble bath and candles
Baby come and kiss me
She's a one glass of wine
And she's feeling kinda tipsy

She's the giver I wish I could be
And the stealer of the covers
She's a picture in my wallet
Of my unborn children's mother
She's the hand that I'm holding
When I'm on my knees and praying
She's the answer to my prayer
And she's the song that I'm playing

[Repeat chorus]

She's the voice I love to hear
Someday when I'm ninety
She's that wooden rocking chair
I want rocking right beside me
Everyday that passes
I only love her more
Yeah, she's the one
That I'd lay down my own life for

And she's everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
She's everything to me
Yeah she's everything to me

Everything I ever wanted
And everything I need
She's everything to me

I Love You Forever, Sweetheart!

HOME SCHOOLING CHILDREN ABOUT TO BECOME A CRIMINAL ACT IN CALIFORNIA - AND MAYBE NATIONWIDE

A very dangerous precedent that threatens another of our freedoms (as always) was set this year by a California (of course) appellate court.  According to an article in the LOS ANGELES TIMES, the California Second District Court of Appeals ruled that parents cannot homeschool their children unless they are certified teachers.  The case came about as a result of a family that had repeated referrals to the Los Angeles Department of Family and Children Services.  There were various allegations including claims of physical abuse involving some of their eight children.  A lawyer appointed to represent two of the children requested the court to require the children to attend a public or private school so that adults could monitor their well-being.  A lower court disagreed, and the lawyer appealed.  The Second District Court of Appeals used this as an excuse to go well beyond the scope of the appeal.  Instead of responding to just the lawyer’s request, the court went well beyond the scope of the abuse allegations and ruled that the private school’s home visits and tests taken on-site were not sufficient to consider them enrolled. The court continued saying that since the childrens’ mother did not have teaching credentials, she was violating state law.  JUSTICE H. WALTER CROSKEY stated in his opinion that was also signed by two of the other judges, “Parents do not have a constitutional right to home school their children.  Parents who fail to (comply with school enrollment laws) may be subject to a criminal complaint against them, found guilty of an infraction, and subject to imposition of fines or an order to complete a parent education and counseling program.”

I do not believe that it’s any coincidence at all that the private school in this case is a Christian school.  The court seized the opportunity to criminalize the home schooling of children and to attack a religious school at the same time.  The government is extremely protective of its schools which are used as indoctrination centers.  All one has to do is look at what is being taught and read some of the textbooks.  You certainly have not heard any of our politicians in Washington condemning this ruling, have you?  Are we going to have Senate hearings on it?  Not a chance.  If the government had its “druthers”, there would be no such thing as home schooling.  Home schooling means thousands of children avoid the government indoctrination into SECULAR HUMANISM as well as liberal revisionist history.  Home schooled children nationally test two to three years ahead of their government school counterparts.  This is a huge embarrassment to the government.  Think about it.  Parents are doing a superior job to the professionals in the government school system.  I’m off on a slight tangent here, but it’s important to clarify something.  Before we blame the teachers, we need to look much higher.  The blame lies with the U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION and the NATIONAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION.  The social and educational experimentation originates here.  Teachers have no choice but to comply.

Anyway, getting back to the court ruling.  A. J. Duffy, president of the UNITED TEACHERS LOS ANGELES said in agreeing with the ruling, “What’s best for a child is to be taught by a credentialed teacher.”  In other words, government knows better how your child should be educated than you do.  Government knows better how to raise your child than you do.  The list goes on and on.  Government wants you to believe that they know better what’s best for you and your family better than you do.

Still don’t believe that America’s government school system is substandard?  According to a study by UNICEF in 2003, the United States ranked EIGHTEENTH out of TWENTY-FOUR developed nations in the effectiveness of its government school system.  UNICEF took the averages of five international studies to make this determination.  And for those who think spending even more money on education is the answer?  The UNICEF report found that “educational success or failure is not directly linked to funding, and that there is no clear link between student-to-teacher ratios and test results.”  One example of this that comes to mind is the Washington,D.C. school system.  More money is spent per student in this system than any other system in the country.  Yet it consistently ranks at or near the bottom.

If the government wants to have all children in its schools, the government needs to take the indoctrination out of the schools, stop the experiments, and go back to what worked for generations to try to catch up with home-schooled children.

One last thing.  In the Los Angeles Times article, there is a family who asked their last name not be used for fear of prosecution – for home-schooling their child!  The father of this nine-year-old child said he was “troubled by the idea that his son would be exposed to teachings about evolution (which is mostly taught as fact, not theory), homosexuality, same sex marriage, and sex education."

“I want to have control over what goes in my son’s head, not what’s put in there by people who might be on the far left who have their own ideas about indoctrinating kids.”

If the ruling goes into effect, this father said, “If I can’t home school my son in California, we’re going to end up having to leave California.  That’s how important it is to me.”  This is what I call a real parent and a man.  Kudos to this father and mother for taking a stand against the increasing tyranny of our government.

WE ARE OUR OWN WORST ENEMY WHILE OUR ENEMIES WATCH

I received an e-mail alert from GOP USA with a link to an article about fourteen House Democrats that are trying to stop the building of the border barrier between the U. S. and Mexico. The BROWNSVILLE HERALD reported that this comes about three years after Congress granted “an unprecedented waiver” to build the barrier on protected lands.  In an ARTICLE authored by Bobby Eberle, these Representatives are taking the government to court to stop it.  The excuse, uh, pardon me, reason?  Environmentalism.  Groups such as THE SIERRA CLUB and the DEFENDERS OF WILDLIFE are behind it.  The Sierra Club has the article about their stance posted on their website entitled TUSCON: BORDER WALLS PUT PEOPLE AND THE ENVIRONMENT AT RISK.  Their chief reason is so ludicrous it would be laughable if it wasn’t a matter of national security.  That reason is that “as the number of blockades and fences grows, immigrants have been forced deeper into the often deadly Sonoran Desert.” Notice how they carefully omitted the word ILLEGAL from that statement?  All immigrants have NOT been forced deeper into the desert – ONLY THOSE BREAKING THE LAW.  Their next reason is supposedly environmental – the Sierra Club alleges that building four roads as requested by the U.S. Border Patrol, installing lights, and six fences would “cut off and isolate the northern portion of the desert and mean a loss of diversity in plants and animals over time.”  Just for the record, I love the environment, I love animals, and I love the great outdoors.  But we must keep our priorities straight. It’s a known fact that the U.S.-Mexican border is the easiest access to our country by terrorists.  In ANY other country in the world, this would be a no-brainer.  But here?  Our national security is going to be tied up in litigation for years. I just wonder what vested interests are at work here.  And the names of the Democrats we need to thank for putting us at risk?  Here they are:

Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Homeland Security Committee Chairman (you believe this one?????)

John Conyers (D-MI), Judiciary Committee Chairman
John Dingell (D-MI), Energy & Commerce Committee Chairman
