This information came from the HAL LINDSEY REPORT about attacks against America's cyber infrastructure. This is something you definitely will not hear in the news, but it's an issue of vital importance to national security. This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'
On this week's edition of "The Hal Lindsey Report," I'm going to take a look at one of the most dangerous threats ever to confront America. The insidious aspect of this threat is that it is "out of sight - out of mind." It's not overtly military or obviously terroristic, yet in reality it's both.
I'm referring to the ongoing and escalating level of assault against America's digital infrastructure. Do you think it won't affect you? Short of a nuclear dirty-bomb explosion in your city, there's probably no other kind of strike that will have more impact on you personally than an attack on America's communication, banking, transportation, and power infrastructures.
The scary thing is that this battle -- cyber war -- is already being fought daily in the digital trenches by America's military and security forces. Some estimates say more than 20 countries are actively staging daily assaults on America's computer controlled systems -- everything from our GPS satellite network to the computers that control sanitation treatment in our major cities. And at the forefront of this war? China. (Talk about biting the hand that feeds you!)
This week, I'll also tell you about the new advanced missile defense system that Iran is purchasing from Russia. Its purpose is to defend the nuclear facilities that, according to the intelligence community, are NOT preparing to manufacture nuclear warheads!
Since our entire nation from the biggest to the smallest applications are run by computers now, one can see how serious this threat is. One successful attack against the U.S. by computer could cripple our defense system, our economy, and even our physical infrastructure. Disaster could be brought on our country without firing a single shot. China and Russia are at the forefront of these attacks. And who sold so much computer technology to these two countries advancing their capabilities by decades to enable them to do this? Former President Bill Clinton. As Mr. Lindsey said in his commentary, "Thank you, Bill."
And about Iran . . . now you didn't REALLY believe they were purchasing that missile defense system from Russia just to protect a bunch of power plants, did you?? As the old country preacher I grew up under used to say, "A man with half-sense and one eye could see that!"
