This video was sent to me recently. It was produced by Aaron Russo. You can find out more about Aaron Russo by visiting America: Freedom to Fascism (this is hyperlinked). Below is the video. It is like a full-length movie being 1:51 long. It's well worth watching. Towards the end I think it lacks continuity as I don't think it really sticks to the subject. The premise is interesting in that it asserts that the Sixteenth Amendment to the U. S. Consitution was never properly ratified making Federal income tax illegal. The movie even cites a U. S. District Court ruling to that effect. Watch and tell me what you think.

Wow, I wish I could accept, dial up prevents me from having any real online life lol. It would take hours for a video like that to load for me :( -Missy http://journals.aol.com/ma24179/MISSYZSTUFF
I can't get it to run right now Dirk- but I can give you my opinion on federal income tax though ;-) It wouldn't surprise me if it were illegal. The fact that before WW1 there were no income taxes makes the case for me. The government was able to get by back then the way we all do- by spendng wisely and saving what bit we have. I can't stand that so many working people are busting their humps so that overnment can act like they have bottomless wallets and play like they're generously giving to the working class- what a bunch of hooey. I think that if it is illegal, we all need to stand up and tell our bloated government what's what! Just my mho~ God Bless you Dirk- thanks for finiding all this stuff!
Having read some of your entries, you bring up some intersting and thought provoking issues. While I have not watched the video, I have mixed emotions. I am a fiscally conservative, socially responsible Republican. I believe that there is a role for a federal government; social security, limited welfare, educational mandates, etc., but that we do not owe those who do not pull themselves up by their own bootstrapes anything. Keep the faith :o)

I cannot get the video to load, I think it is because of the size. I have tried several times to no avail. I have satellite broadband and there is a limit on bandwidth usage. Reading your introduction I wonder why more people haven't looked into this and tried to do something about it? I believe the average American is sick to death of paying tax after tax, I know I am. Our tax system needs restructuring from the ground up. You always have interesting entries to think about.
