PRESIDENT FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT'S "DATE OF INFAMY" SPEECH

Today is the anniversary of President Franklin Roosevelt's speech asking Congress to declare war on Japan.  In recognition of that, here is a copy of his speech.

I didn't realize that Japan attacked in so many different places at the same time as they attacked Pearl Harbor.  So this  really was a day of infamy and Japan must have thought that by striking on so many fronts they would be able to overcome but instead they made a lot of people very angry so that the country was completely united about going to war, which does not always happen when wars are started.  sometimes feelings are split as in the civil war  Interesting to see a copy of this speech.   Gerry
