THE REAL DEAL WITH COMPACT FLUORESCENT LIGHT BULBS & A COMMENTARY ON CONGRESS!
Just a quick entry that I thought everyone would find interesting and enjoy. I heard this on talk radio last week and I thought this was an excellent expose' of the hazards of the compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFL's)

I watched this video with great amusement. The man behind him could see the humor in the ridiculous extremes that Congress has taken. Since our house is filled with these new gadgets now, I guess we must be careful not to let the cats knock the lamp over. We'd all have to evacuate. What I want to know is how can you evacuate and clean it up at the same time? Common sense is gone from all of them.
Sometime include the PREAMBLE from School House Rock on here. I'm sure many of your readers would get a kick out of seeing it again as it was a Saturday morning classic for many.

Oh Boy Dirk! That was the best thing I've read in ages!!!! That was great!!! Nice to see there is still a little common sense in Washington. So- will I still be able to buy Thomas Edison's bulbs, or will I have to convert my old and antiquidated sockets to fit the poisonous bulbs? I'm continuing to stock up anyway, I've been buying a couple of packs of the old fashioned kind every couple of weeks. At least I know that if one or two break, I don't have to call in hazmat!!! An excellent read, Dirk!!! There was a report that came out in our paper that these particular bulbs might actually cause migraines too!
I bought some and the label said that they last 5 years. They don't make clear what the 5 years is based on - continual use or average use, but let me tell you, they only lasted about 5 MONTHS.
